Company Dance
Company Dance consists of students who have auditioned for one or more dance companies at
In Sync Dance. Company Performers become members of the ISDA Performance Company and serve as community volunteers and performers at events throughout the year. The companies are: Ballet, Jazz/Contemporary, Hip Hop and Tap. Each company has three skill levels: Junior, Senior and Elite.
Ballet Company Dancers also become members of the NorCal Performance Ballet Company, putting on two major ballet productions annually, and are placed in a pre-professional preparatory training program.
These dancers gain more opportunities to perform throughout the year, learn several routines for all of our major performances, and get to showcase their talents throughout the community. A Company Dancer's commitment is much higher, requiring a minimum of two classes per discipline. The more advanced the student, or the higher the level a student has achieved, the more classes they become dedicated to. The Company as a whole is required to several extra rehearsals outside of regularly scheduled classes, as well.
The Company's focus gears toward technique, performance, a stride towards a professional career in the future, and giving back to the community through our partner nonprofit Keaton's Child Cancer Alliance. We currently have one competition team, our Elite Jazz/Contemporary group. These are our most skilled Company Dancers and will compete amongst other studios in our region.
Students must be seven years or older to participate, have had at least a year of experience in their given discipline, and must audition for each discipline they wish to participate. The auditions are held once a year in August. Company Dancers are expected to commit to the Company for the entire season (September - June).
